It's inspiring to see how our guru's quotes have inspired other inspirational speakers!

I was just on the Cool People Doing Cool Things Instagram account and stumbled across the saying "It's amazing what you can do when you're determined and have no money" by Shannon from Retro Sweat. I'm always on Instagram, and I'm always honoured by how many other inspirational speakers are able to use the words of our guru to inspire whatever passion burns inside them. In fact, our guru often says "It's amazing the Yoga Face Selfies you can do when you're determined and have no money", which I expect may have been the inspirational quote that helped Shannon fashion her own.



This quote by our guru is in answer to the question people often ask us about Yoga Face Selfie, "what are the barriers to entry?"

The true answer is "none". Yes, a couple of our mantras are "If you don't record it, it didn't happen..." and "If you don't snap it. You didn't do it...", but in reality a true yoga face selfie guru knows that enlightenment can be found in a reflecting pool in the middle of a forest glen as easily as in a photo snapped with a mobile phone moments after awakening.

Never let lack of money hold you back from striving for the yoga face selfie that will allow your consciousness to turn inward and lead you towards inner peace and self-realization through facial muscle actuation.

NOTE: Many people have phones, and if you don't, I am sure that after you quote some of the Yoga Face Selfie mantras to people on the street they will see your passion and be willing to let you take selfies on their phones. What better way to bring more people into the fold than by giving the a record of your face achieving true enlightenment? Just think, if mobile phones had been around when the other prophets and gurus roamed the world, we would never have to examine old texts or read dead sea scrolls to learn about their lives and quotes, we could just go straight to the source on YouTube and watch some vids of our prophet(s) and find Nirvana! What amazing times we live in!

I love how by switching words contained in inspirational quotes and completely transform the meaning and, if you're lucky, will also give you a better understanding of how the quote works. This one, for example, is largely based on confirmation bias. When confirmation bias is in effect, we will assume that other people will have the same concept of what behaviour will make you a "better" person. Culture to culture that idea of actions or behaviours that will make you a "better" person will shift. If you replace the word "behaviour" with a specific action, you will undoubtable lose a portion of your audience that feel the action your have described does not actually make you a better person. This is interesting stuff, I think.

Face Yoga Popeye Pose - The Yoga Face Selfie Technique

The Popeye Pose. The true art to this pose is being able to isolate and control the muscles in each cheek individually. The cheek with the pipe (or paint brush, or pencil, or whatever you have on hand) must be relaxed while the lips and teeth hold the pipe in place. The opposite cheek must be constructed into a smile while also resisting the force of the air being used to puff out the opposing cheek. Then you h ave to isolate the eye muscles so that the eye on the puffed cheek side is stretched as wide as it can go while the opposite eye is squinting. The selfie must be taken with the arm farthest from the wide open eye on a 3/4 degree angle.
